First post of my first blog…..
So in that spirit, another first:
I bought a double variety grafted tomato yesterday – albeit a massively reduced, sad looking, rescue me sort of specimen. I’ve always grown tomatoes from seed, planted them outdoors and left them to survive come hell or …. well more likely blight, (particularly in the last 2 years). I’ve heard both positive and negative things about grafted tomatoes but given the slow start with my seed grown specimens I’m willing to give this
grafted one a go.
Potting on grafted tomatoes is different from potting on the seed grown specimens. The graft union must remain above the soil level. The seed grown ones I sink to their shoulders when I pot on.
I’ll report back on progress. Game on…..
